Wadi Rum Reserve
About This Place
Wadi Rum Protected Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern Jordan — a vast desert valley of dramatic red sandstone mountains, ancient petroglyphs, and sweeping sand dunes that has inspired explorers, writers, and filmmakers for generations. Activities for families include jeep tours, camel rides, sunset viewpoints, and Bedouin-hosted overnight camps under the stars. Wadi Rum served as a filming location for Lawrence of Arabia and The Martian. An entry fee applies; guided tours are widely available from the visitor centre.
