Sorolla Museum
About
The Sorolla Museum (Museo Sorolla) in Madrid preserves the former home, studio, and garden of the great Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla (1863–1923). The house, designed by Sorolla himself, contains an outstanding collection of the artist's luminous, sun-drenched paintings — particularly his celebrated beach and garden scenes — alongside his personal belongings, furniture, and correspondence. The gardens were also designed by Sorolla in three distinct Andalusian-inspired styles and are a delight in their own right. The museum is managed by Spain's Ministry of Culture and is one of Madrid's most intimate and beautiful cultural spaces.
