Shakespeare's Globe on the South Bank of the Thames in London is a faithful reconstruction of the original open-air Elizabethan playhouse where many of Shakespeare's works were first performed. The theatre presents an active performance season of Shakespeare and other plays from April to October, while year-round guided tours, the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse (a candlelit indoor theatre), and an exhibition tell the story of the Globe and its remarkable reconstruction.
