The Serpentine Galleries are a pair of celebrated contemporary art galleries set within Kensington Gardens in central London. Serpentine South occupies a 1934 former tea pavilion, while Serpentine North — a short walk across the bridge — is a converted 1805 gunpowder store. Together they present a year-round programme of cutting-edge exhibitions by international artists, alongside public art projects, events, and an iconic annual summer Pavilion commission by a leading architect. Entry is free, and both galleries are easily walkable from Hyde Park Corner or Bayswater.
