Sea Organ

About

The Sea Organ (Morske Orgulje) is a unique architectural sound installation on the waterfront promenade of Zadar, Croatia, designed by architect Nikola Bašić and completed in 2005. Steps descend into the Adriatic Sea, beneath which a series of polyethylene tubes and a resonating cavity produce haunting musical tones as waves push air through the pipes. The result is an ever-changing, natural musical composition that depends on sea conditions, wind, and tide. The Sea Organ has won international design awards and is one of Zadar's most beloved landmarks — entry is free.
