Royal Botanical Gardens - Rock Garden
About
The David Braley & Nancy Gordon Rock Garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens is a stunning retreat nestled within a historic limestone quarry in Hamilton, Ontario. As RBG's oldest garden, it opened to the public in 1932 and has since undergone a rejuvenation to incorporate sustainable garden design. Visitors can enjoy the harmonious blend of bold perennial drifts, water features, and sculptural artworks like Flora Hominis, inspired by Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf. The garden is family-friendly, offering seasonal attractions and the Rock Garden Bistro, which serves meals using ingredients sourced directly from the garden.
