The Plaza de España is one of Seville's most spectacular architectural landmarks, built as the centerpiece of the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. The sweeping semi-circular complex features a wide canal with rental rowing boats, ornate tiled alcoves representing every province of Spain, and a dramatic blend of Renaissance Revival and Moorish architectural styles. Freely open to visitors at all hours, it is one of the most photographed public spaces in the country and has appeared in several major films.
