Madrid Río
About
Madrid Río is a sweeping urban park running along the Manzanares River in Madrid, created when the city buried the M-30 motorway underground and returned the riverbanks to residents. The park connects four city districts — Arganzuela, Latina, Carabanchel, and Usera — and links to Casa de Campo, offering cycling and walking paths, restored river ecology, children's play areas, and restored bridges. Winner of Harvard's Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design in 2015.
