Krakus Mound
About
Krakus Mound (Kopiec Krakusa) is an ancient burial mound in the Podgórze district of Kraków, one of the oldest man-made structures in Poland. According to legend, it marks the grave of Krak, the mythical founder of Kraków. The grassy earthen mound rises about 16 metres above the surrounding terrain and offers a panoramic view over the city and the Vistula River valley. It is open to visitors year-round, free of charge, and is a popular spot for walks, kite flying, and watching the sunrise.
