Kenwood House
About
Kenwood House is a magnificent 18th-century villa on the edge of Hampstead Heath in north London, managed by English Heritage. Remodelled by the architect Robert Adam between 1764 and 1779, the house contains one of the finest private art collections in the country, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Gainsborough, Turner, and Constable. The house is surrounded by 112 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland — perfect for a family walk — and includes a café, a secondhand bookshop, a gift shop, and children's activities in the Housekeeper's Room. Entry to the house and grounds is free.
