El Jardí del Túria is a 9-kilometre linear riverside park running through the heart of Valencia, created in the 1980s after the Turia River was diverted following catastrophic flooding in 1957. The former riverbed was transformed into a green corridor of gardens, sports pitches, cycling paths, playgrounds, and open lawns stretching from the western outskirts to the sea, passing the City of Arts and Sciences. Free to access and open year-round, it is the lung of the city and a favourite outdoor space for Valencian families.
