The Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park, California is home to the world's largest trees by volume — the giant sequoias — including the General Sherman Tree, the single largest living organism on Earth at 84 metres tall and over 2,000 years old. The grove features 65 km of hiking trails weaving through cathedral-like forests of these awe-inspiring ancient trees, accessible via the Generals Highway from the park entrances. A National Park Service pass or day-use fee is required to enter Sequoia National Park.
