Palacio Taranco — Museo de Artes Decorativas
About
Palacio Taranco is a beautiful Belle Époque mansion in the Old City (Ciudad Vieja) of Montevideo, Uruguay, which now houses the Museo de Artes Decorativas. Built in the early 20th century, the palace's sumptuous interiors provide an elegant backdrop for collections of paintings, sculptures, furniture, tapestries, decorative lighting, and classical archaeology pieces. Located near Plaza Zabala, it is one of Montevideo's most handsome heritage buildings and a rewarding cultural stop in the historic centre. Open Tuesday to Saturday.
