Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park is a huge protected natural area northwest of Madrid and the region’s oldest protected space, linking the city with the Sierra de Guadarrama. Families can explore varied landscapes, wildlife-rich habitats and traditional dehesa countryside via a network of walking routes, with visitor information available at La Pedriza and Valle de La Fuenfría centers. If visiting the Las Dehesas recreation area, note that vehicle access/parking is regulated and requires advance reservation and payment during the stated controlled periods.
