Central Park Zoo

The Central Park Zoo is a small accredited zoo run by the Wildlife Conservation Society, nestled within Central Park in Midtown Manhattan. The zoo is home to around 130 species of animals across three climate zones — the Tropic Zone, the Polar Circle, and the Temperate Territory — including snow leopards, red pandas, sea lions, and penguins. Compact enough to explore in a few hours, it is one of New York City's most family-friendly and accessible wildlife experiences.
