Brijuni/Brioni National Park
About
Brijuni National Park (Nacionalni park Brijuni) is a stunning archipelago of 14 islands in the northern Adriatic Sea, off the Istrian coast of Croatia. The park is accessible only by boat from the town of Fažana, making it a unique nature and cultural destination. Highlights include a safari park with exotic animals including elephants, zebras, and deer, guided tours by tourist train past Roman villa ruins and dinosaur footprint sites, kayaking, cycling, golf, tennis, and archaeological diving at Verige Cove. The islands were once a private retreat of Yugoslav president Tito, and the National Museum of Brijuni documents this history. Open daily 8:00–16:00; guided trips depart from Fažana 7:00–20:00.
