About This Place
Bosque del Recuerdo (Forest of Remembrance) is a memorial grove within the El Retiro park in Madrid, created in tribute to the 191 victims of the 11 March 2004 Madrid train bombings. The grove features 192 olive trees and cypress trees (one for each victim and one collective tribute), creating a serene and moving outdoor memorial in the heart of Madrid's most beloved park. Free to visit at all times.
